Lynne is a licenced acupuncturist, with an MSc in Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture and is registered with the British Acupuncture Council. She previously had a 20 year nursing career, specialising in Oncology and Palliative Care.
Lynne initially studied TCM style acupuncture, and is extending her practice to adopt a more classical style of acupuncture, based on the ancient text, Yellow Emperor’s canon (Huang di Nei Jing). Lynne uses a range of techniques, including cupping, moxa and Tui-na, as well as “Qi” techniques.
Her nursing background gives her a deeper understanding of biomedical diagnoses and treatments as well as extensive experience in caring for people with complex and disabling illnesses.
She graduated from London South Bank University and has been studying continually ever since, both in UK, U.S. and China. She currently practices in Holloway and at St Joseph’s Hospice, Hackney in a busy neurology clinic.
She teaches Western pathophysiology (biomedicine) for the BSc Acupuncture course at LSBU and research appreciation at the International College of Oriental Medicine. The teaching enriches her clinical practice and vice versa.
She is also trained in aromatherapy, myofascial release and Reiki, which may be integrated into treatments to optimise the therapy.
