What is stress therapy? By Jo Tocher

What exactly is a Stress Therapist you may well ask?   I’m a Complementary Wellbeing Practitioner where the Science meets the Holistic.

When a client comes to see me, we assess where they are feeling stressed and how much stress they have and where they are carrying it. From there I create a bespoke treatment especially tailored to their needs.

The Therapies I use to work with my clients are Heart Screening (this is a great indicator to see if stress is impacting on the heart)  It’s much like having your blood pressure taken but it also reads the pressure at the root of the Aorta, looks at the stiffness of the arteries and gives you a reading on your heart rhythm.  It is totally painless and one of the most empowering things you can give yourself.  Changes to lifestyle have an immediate benefit on the heart – so take heart, all is not lost!

I also soothe with a Therapeutic Aromatherapy Massage using essential oils which are selected with the person in mind.  Indian Head Massage is amazingly relaxing and works the upper back, head, face and arms. Reiki is a simple, gently hands-on energy technique that is used for stress reduction and relaxation.

Relaxation guided meditations are wonderful for totally relaxing the body and incorporating positive suggestions to live your life to the full.

These methods help reduce stress in people and they leave feeling relaxed and revived and more balanced ready to face the world again.

My advice is not to let stress build up as it can lead to serious illness if steps are not taken to relieve and release it from the body, mind and heart.
